What We Do

VITA provides educational services free of charge for adults 17 years of age and older with less than a high school education and not enrolled in the K-12 system.  One-to-one and small group basic literacy instruction is provided by VITA teachers and community volunteers trained by VITA as tutors and/or teacher aides. Reading level appropriate instructional materials are used in a curriculum of basic skills training which incorporates survival and life skills as well as instruction related to workplace literacy or family literacy.
